About Us

Since its inception in early 2002 Inverness Air Conditioning & Heating, Inc. (IAC) has grown from a one man, home-based business into an employer of seven with offices located off of Hwy 200.

IAC is the brainchild of John and Barbara Keyte who moved to Inverness from the greater Fort Lauderdale area in 2001. John Keyte, president of IAC formerly owned an HVAC business in Austin, Texas with his brother in the 1970’s. The Keyte’s moved to Florida in the 1980’s and John started teaching HVAC for the Broward District Schools. John still teaches HVAC at CFCC in Ocala.

Jim Keyte, Vice President at IAC moved to Inverness in the fall of 2002. Jim Keyte has been in the HVAC field since 1986. Jim also moved out of the greater Fort Lauderdale area where he was a sub-contractor and site manager. Jim was then and is today the man who can figure out how to fix or install an A/C unit when most others cannot. Jim is the day-to-day manager of the business.

In the spring of 2007 IAC became a NATE Quality Circle Contractor, only 1 in 10 companies achieve this status and we are one of only two in Citrus County. NATE (North American Technician Excellence) is an independent, third-party organization that develops and promotes excellence in the installation and service of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment by recognizing high-quality industry technicians through voluntary testing and certification.

Our goals at IAC are: to make high quality, dependable HVAC equipment affordable to everyone, have all of our customers refer us to their friends, family and neighbors, and treat our employees with the utmost respect. We keep office hours of 7 – 7 Monday – Friday, but we let our customers know that they can leave a message at any time and we will try to get back to them within the hour.

We are happy to be part of Citrus County. We are proud to be an area employer and hope that in the years to come that we will be able to support more area families by providing them with a steady income, good benefits and a rewarding career.
