Equipment Installs

At Inverness A/C & Heating, Inc. we pride ourselves on our stellar equipment installations. Our Contractor and President Jim Keyte started in the business right our of high school and although most people who start in the HVAC business start as installation apprentices and after 5 - 7 years graduate to Lead Installation Mechanics and from there move into the service end of the field Jim chose to stay with installations because he looks at putting a new system in a home as a work of art.
When we hire new Lead Installers we insist that their installs not only be installed to codes and operate as they should, but that they look as good as possible too, especially when the Air Handler is in an exposed spot. We insist that the outside component be it a condenser or a package unit be at least 12" from the home to allow proper airflow and that the machine be level and have rubber vibrater pads under it to cut down on noise.
The #1 problem we have had with our busines in the past 10 years is finding qualified help. Unfortunately there are a lot of A/C companies in Florida who sell the cheapest equipment they can find and install it in substandard fashions and unfortuantely for an apprentice working under a lead installer they think that that is the right way to do things when it is not. Due to the lack of qualified installers in Citrus County we find that most of our service calls are due to poorly installed equipment. We have also found that the majority of equipment that is replaced before it is 12 years old is either due to a poor installation or lack of maintenance by the homeowner.
At Inverness A/C & Heating, Inc, we install equipment the right way which often times can lead to a higher ticket price, but the question you have to ask yourself is would you rather spend a little bit more money up front and have a system that will last with very few service problems or go with the lowest bidder and risk having a job that is poorly installed and an A/C company that takes their sweet time taking care of your warranty issues because they know they aren't going to get paid?
There is a reason why we have an A+ rating with the BBB and that is because we do our jobs right the first time. The majority of installation problems that we encounter within the first 2 years after we install a machine are either due to a faulty part from the factory or lack of maintenance by the homeowner.
